Warm Fuzzy's Come Later... This is Reality Dose Rant...
This week “experts” have said that the economic downturn is over.
Read it Out loud. Stop Laughing (or crying…)
The Economic downturn is over.
Like its’ an episode of NCIS or something. “Oohh look the mess and hell of the past 3 years is all done! Yippee!! Everybody is all better! Everything is all better!” Seriously?! (I didn’t hear that all the CEO’s got their complete payouts yet – did you?!)
Here is my rant of the day: (just thought I’d prepare you…)
I would like to know which country club or spa the genius is that stated this (just to have a conversation – seriously, just a simple conversation, possibly some yelling and graphs of my own – but clearly peaceful with no rant… yeah right… sorry)
Also I would like all the analytical data showing me the proof that “it is all better” (By the way the “non-profit research group” is called the National Bureau of Economic Research – they ultimately get to do “research” and get millions of funding dollars from Fortune 500 companies – just to name one group that make sure they get funding)That is like Bush saying that it was all done in Afghanistan a few year back (side note – did he or his staff not think what saying that would do to the families that then continued to lose loved ones and heroes deployed there – not to mention how basically ridiculous it sounded – even at the time… that is like telling kids that their new loud obnoxious toy that the family member who forgot about karma and paybacks bought them doesn’t work anymore – when they were standing right there and saw you take the batteries out…!?).
Now… here are a few suggestions for those geniuses.
Marketing - Marketing folks.
Come on!?! The USA spends billions of $’s on marketing to the obsessed business and technology society… So, instead of letting all of those in the USA that “clearly are all recovered” (please tell me you hear sarcasm), working, not homeless, not houseless, not penniless believe it is all “hunky dory” how about you relay that fact the trends that indicate a recession are showing a change in direction – don’t talk down to the average person out there. (I refuse to use language like middle and lower class… we aren’t sects from India folks… grow the %*$ up.) We have children to raise who will lead future generations. Grow Up.
Get out of the spa, the numbers, the reality of your pampering and $500 shoes and step up to seeing that it is not about the $... it is about the day to day contributions that each individual average person contributes toward. The physical contributions and efforts… get up and away from your computer and have a face to face conversation. Write a note. Make a phone call.
(side rant that will or will not be addressed… the idiot and deplorable, pathetically sick WI prosecutor who was making threatening “sexting” (what a stupid and idiotic word) to a defendants ex-girlfriend – of whom she had a restraining order against)… he and his selfish, sick, and materialistic lack of ideals, and how many others like him in roles of leadership in government-church-business are the ones giving your voted in office, business superiors, religious leaders a negative light. The lack of character and understanding of the fact this is reality folks – at least make an attempt to utilize your soul and heart toward the betterment of humanity)
Now – with that said. We need our experts – no doubt… but don’t let them do anything public without a great Budweiser marketing team behind them (or use the folks who do the E-trade commercials)… seriously… we all remember those commercials, we love them (or hate them) but we remember them and it makes us talk about them. When words like – the recession is over – is said… some person in the Midwest listening on the radio from their car (that just broke down) watching the sheriff take their home, and this same person has spoken with 5 potential employers and was told that “they are going in another direction”… this same person shrugs and heads to the nearest ER because they don’t have health insurance and that is the only way to get the heart medicine that keeps them alive.
I know not the most uplifting things here – but it is a dose of reality that we all know exists.
(Last ironic side note – just in the past few moments since this rant was written… another news report on great ideals and potential lack thereof… the Vatican Bank being investigated for possible money laundering.)
There will be a happy fuzzy love and love life post later today… please come back… I promise you’ll have warm fuzzy’s and Hallmark goosebumps… until then… be human… (that means Be Great…Stand tall! Speak up! )
